2022 Antarctica & Buenos Aires: Photography on Ice

March 3, 2022 - March 18, 2022 12:00 am

Come and join us in March 2022 on a luxury Antarctica Photography on Ice expedition led by myself and actor, broadcaster Louise Wallace.

This is no ordinary tour; it’s a luxury photography landscape and wildlife expedition.   This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore Buenos Aires and Antarctica with Louise who was the recipient of Best Tourism Story award at the Qantas Media Awards as well as learning from Lesley, one of New Zealand’s leading female photography mentors.

This is a fully escorted tour by Pam Young from House of Travel.  We depart Auckland in early March 2022, flying to Buenos Aires for two nights before boarding MS Fridtjof Nansen at Ushuaia for our 12-day Antarctic cruise.  We finish our cruise back in Ushuaia and return to Buenos Aires for two nights, before flying back to Auckland.

This Antarctica expedition cruise is perfect way to experience spectacular Antarctic wildlife and natural beauty.  Enjoy five full days in Antarctica with landings and ice-boat cruising, as well as chances to kayak, hike and much more.  Antarctica never fails to inspire awe and wonder, with white horizons above oceans full of icebergs and whales. Perhaps even more awe-inspiring will be your first encounter with the huge colonies of penguins.

The onboard expedition team will lead ice-cruising and landings at every opportunity to come ashore and explore the impressive Antarctic scenery; this is true wilderness. From the deck, there are great chances to spot whales.

We will attempt landings at several sites in the South Shetlands and on the Antarctic Peninsula and aim to bring you to the incredible diversity of landscapes and rich wildlife on display in this pristine wilderness.

Photographers will be spoilt under the guidance of both myself and an onboard professional photographer.  You can expect to capture outstanding Antarctic landscape and wildlife photos; the sights and sounds of Antarctica are sure to stay with you for a lifetime!

Buenos Aires, known as ‘the Paris of the South’ has a rich history and an untiring passion for life.  We will spend time discovering history at street level, exploring local markets, cobblestone streets and ornate historic buildings with an overabundance of street and travel photographic opportunities.

On our last day before our farewell dinner, we’ll have an opportunity to get together, sharing our favourite images where you’ll be provided with some tips on editing and composure.

July 1, 2021 - July 12, 2021 4:53 pm

Come and join us in July 2021 on a 12-day, luxury Beautiful Bordeaux & Dordogne tour led by myself and celebrity chef Jo Seagar.

This is no ordinary tour; it’s a luxury photography and culinary interest tour.   You’ll have a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn, not only the art of travel and street photography from one of New Zealand’s leading female photography mentors, but also how to prepare, create and present simply delicious French cuisine under the watchful eye of one of New Zealand’s foremost chefs.

This is a fully escorted tour by Pam Young from House of Travel.  We depart Auckland on 1 July 2021 flying to Paris.  Nine nights in the Bordeaux and Dordogne regions and arrive back in Auckland on 12 July 2021.

Exploring the Bordeaux and Dordogne regions, we’ll be sourcing fresh locally grown ingredients.   Under Jo’s expert and passionate guidance, you’ll learn the art of food preparation, how to cook and present delicious regional specific cuisine.   We’ll also be dining at local restaurants, immersing ourselves in the Parisian dining experience.

Photographers will be spoilt under the guidance of both myself and a local professional photography guide as we explore the Dordogne and Bordeaux regions, visiting places not on the normal tourist trail.   You can expect to capture photos of the regions’ beautiful natural surroundings and create long exposure images of sunrises and sunsets over picturesque French vineyards and the countryside.  Surrounded by the exceptional local cultural heritage there is an opportunity of street photography as we walk the Parisian markets and meander through the ups and downs of the narrow streets.  Under my care and tuition, you will learn tips and techniques to create some truly amazing and memorable images.   This is truly the trip of a lifetime.

On our last day before our farewell dinner, we’ll have an opportunity to get together, sharing our favourite images where you’ll be provided with some tips on editing and composure.
